While protest at Boise State University and City Hall remained relatively peaceful, police did have to step in to keep control of the crowd.
Barriers were put up by police to separate protesters as two different groups were exercising their first amendment right. One group was pro police and the other group was anti police.
“Officers did intervene in several tense situations. Through their interventions, we were able to de-escalate and return things to a peaceful state. I would like to say we appreciate those who chose different venues to express their opinions. It made the crowds much more manageable in size for those who want to exercise their first amendment rights.”
– Police Chief Ryan Lee
Four people were arrested during the protests. Two people were arrested on assault charges and two people were arrested for breaking through police barricades.
