A riot broke out near Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood as rioters threw rocks, bottles, mortars and fireworks at police officers.
Police arrested more than two dozen people as violence erupted in Seattle. Rioters were arrested for assaulting police officers, obstruction and failure to disperse.
At one point rioters even broke through the gates of a youth detention center that is being built in downtown Seattle and set fires within the area. They also smashed windows of a King County jail.
Seattle police utilized flash bangs and pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
