Three Police Officers Shot Outside Chicago Police Station

Outside of a police station on Chicago’s west side three police officers were shot while trying to take a violent suspect into custody.

Shortly before 10 am outside of Chicago’s 25th district police station officers were trying to take a carjacking suspect into custody when the suspect fired multiple gunshots at officers.

Three officers were injured. One was hit in his chin, neck and in his bullet proof vest, a second was hit in his bullet proof vest and the third officer suffered a gunshot wound to the hip. Two other officers were experiencing chest pain and have been hospitalized.

The suspect was hit as well during the gunfire.

The first officer was rushed to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where doctors had to place a breathing tube. The other four officers were taken to Loyola Hospital.

The suspect was taken to Stoger Hospital.

The shooting is currently under investigation and no additional details have been released at this time.
