Herman Cain a former GOP presidential hopeful has passed away after succumbing to the coronavirus.
Herman Cain was hospitalized on July 1 in Atlanta due to complications from the coronavirus. After fighting for multiple weeks to overcome the virus he passed away. His death was announced on his website on Thursday.

Cain is the highest profile figure in the United States to have died from the coronavirus.
Throughout his struggle he remained hopeful and his social media account was regularly updated about his progress.
