Just days after Nancy Pelosi tore up Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech and the President was acquitted, National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and President Trump have removed 70 Obama holdovers from the NSC.
“President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council. Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200. Many were loaners from other agencies and have been sent back. Others left government work.”
– The Washington Examiner
U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova has said that he has been told by “a very senior U.S. government policy official” that the supposedly anonymous author of the infamous 2018 liberal New York Times column claiming that he and “like-minded” colleagues working in the Trump Administration were actively undermining the President’s agenda has been identified and will be fired this week.
“This month, we will complete the right-sizing goal Ambassador O’Brien outlined in October, and in fact, may exceed that target by drawing down even more positions.”
– John Ullyot, the NSC’s senior director for strategic communications
Trump’s original appointment to be the National Security Advisor, General Mike Flynn most likely would have already done the downsizing had he not been targeted and framed by Peter Strzok and Joe Pientka. Pete and Joe were also Obama era FBI holdovers
And of course Chuck Schumer had to chime in and voice his disapproval…
“These attacks are part of a dangerous, growing pattern of retaliation against those who report wrongdoing only to find themselves targeted by the President and subject to his wrath and vindictiveness.”
– Chuck Schumer
